- 1,192 islands
26 atolls scattered along the equator — the lowest-lying nation on earth.
- One island, one resort
The whole island is the hotel. No road, no town, no neighbours.
- A reef at your steps
Most villas open straight onto their own coral garden.
- Warm all year
Around 28°C whatever the season — only the crowds change.
TheMaldives
Our home ground, and the first destination in the collection — the islands, villas, and lagoons we know better than anywhere on earth.
Why the MaldivesOne sea, known completely.
A travel house that knows everywhere knows nowhere. We were raised by these tides — and the people who run the finest islands here are not our suppliers but our neighbours and friends, which opens the unlisted villa, the closed table, and the timing you will not find anywhere else.
A few of
the islands.
Islands we know first-hand and would send our own family to — and, off the page, the unlisted stays held only by request. Three here; the rest live in the collection.
When the islands
are at their best
There is no bad time, only different ones. The dry season is the postcard; the green season is quieter, kinder on rates, and — when the whale sharks and mantas gather to feed — arguably the greater show. Tell us what you want to see, and we will time the week to it.
The Dry Season
Sun-drowsy days, glass-calm lagoons, and the visibility divers cross the world for. The classic Maldives — and the busiest. Christmas and New Year are spoken for a year ahead.
The Green Season
Kinder rates and dramatic skies, with warm afternoon rain that passes like a mood. The islands at their quietest, and often at their most alive.
Manta & Whale Sharks
When the plankton blooms in Hanifaru Bay, the giants gather to feed — peak August to October. The Indian Ocean’s greatest show, and a reason to come in the green months.
The Surf
The swell lines up for the atolls’ reef breaks; we charter to the ones with no names and no crowds. June to September is the sweet spot.
Not sure which island
is yours?
Tell us the feeling you're chasing and we'll shortlist honestly — including, when it's true, islands that aren't on this page.
